James Blackburn has been making movies since he was a youngster. His first camera was a Fisher Price. He often made short movies using his family and friends as actors and crew. The movies of his youth are pretty much unwatchable but they were the stepping stone to where he is today.
After realizing the short-falls of his first camera, James decided to upgrade to a VHS camera which infuenced his style of shooting. He figured out that he could also edit using the camera and two VCR's hooked up together. The next step for his editing expeience was to add music with the help of a cd player and voice overs with the help of a cheap microphone. This was the birth of his first "editing booth". This worked for a while but had it's limitations.
James shot & edited this way through the late 80's and until the late 90's, when he acquired a computer with 4 gb of space! This was when he started editing in the digital realm and his current style of film-making and editing was born. His skills were expanded over the next few years and now we have the "Blackburn" style of movie making!
Over the next few years, James shot and edited dozens of short movies. Now that he could edit on a computer, he figured the more experience the better! James has become best known for making really good bad movies.
